Agency Overview:
Commonpoint (formerly known as the Samuel Field and Central Queens Y) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit community center serving over 10,000 persons of diverse backgrounds in Queens County. Commonpoint provides a continuum of social, recreational, and educational services for children, families and adults. For over two generations, Commonpoint, with two main locations in Little Neck and Forest Hills, Queens, has been a special place for thousands of families, older adults, children and individuals who participate in its parenting, preschool, after-school, cultural arts, camping, health and fitness, social services, and senior programming.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE JOB:
  • Complete all data entry for the summer and after school program (DYCD Connect, compliance files, etc.).
  • Ensure proper implementation of program by team.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with staff, youth, parents, and school.
  • Implementation of program activities and scheduling.
  • Supporting the Director in completion of evaluation reports on a timely basis.
  • Maintain professional files on all staff for Department of Health review.
  • Order, manage and keep track of all program supplies and food/snack deliveries.
  • Keep organized computer records of all finances, registrations and program related information.
  • Attend staff meetings and professional development trainings.
  • Superior leadership and management skills and the ability to motivate and support members of a team.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • (Preferred but not required): Bachelorʼs Degree in Education, Social Work or other relevant subject.
  • Prior data management & customer service experience.
  • Experience working with youth in an educational setting.
  • Prior management experience.
  • Willingness to submit to and pass criminal, child protection, and sexual registry background check.

Job Details:
  • Location: 1970 West Farms Road, Bronx, NY, 10460.
  • Hourly Rate: $23.00/hr - $25.00/hr.
  • Non-Union Position.
