SYEP/WLG provides New York City youth with summer employment and educational experiences that build on their individual strengths and incorporate youth development principles, including engaging young people’s talents and interests, developing skills and competencies, and connecting participants with positive adult role models.
The Emerging Leaders SYEP/WLG Coordinator supports the successful implementation of the Emerging Leaders component of the Summer Youth Employment Program, with a focus on participant case management,
engagement, retention, intervention, and successful program completion.
Working closely with program leadership and staff, the Coordinator monitors participant progress, addresses barriers, coordinates interventions and follow-up, and supports worksite coordination, program documentation, data tracking, and compliance with Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) requirements.
The ideal candidate is organized, responsive, youth-centered, and skilled at supporting young people who may require additional assistance to remain engaged and succeed in the program. This position reports to the Emerging Leaders Associate Director.
